About Us

Southern R.I. Intergroup provides services predominantly to the population and AA Groups in Kent and Washington Counties. We will, of course, serve anyone who calls our phone number and needs help. We are managed and supported by our member groups and carry out their combined group conscience. We are staffed entirely by volunteers from our member groups.

All Groups are encouraged to appoint an Intergroup Representative (IGR) to attend our monthly business meetings (first Thursday of the month at 7 pm either at the Intergroup Office, 2845 Post Rd, Warwick, or virtually,  and keep the group informed of our programs, services, and volunteer needs.

SRI Intergroup is, by charter, focused on the Alcoholic who still suffers and provides many 12th Step opportunities for its volunteers. Our office is open from 8 am to 8 pm (when we have enough volunteers), and we also have volunteers to answer calls between 8 pm and 8 am. SRI Intergroup has made a profound difference in the lives of many Rhode Islanders. Volunteers are always needed to help answer phones at the Intergroup office and / or respond to calls for help. If you are interested in volunteering please visit our Service Needs page.

SRI Intergroup stocks AA Conference Approved Literature and sells this literature at unit cost as a convenience to member groups and individuals who stop into our office. We also stock anniversary cards, medallions, and tokens.

We offer a conveniently located office for AA members to drop in and talk with other AA members over a cup of coffee. SRI organizes activities approved by the member groups, including a gala New Year’s dinner-dance, and holds Alkathons on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. We support both Area 61 and GSO with contributions once our budget requirements have been met.

We are located at 2845 Post Road in Warwick. Call us at (401) 739-8777 or email [email protected].
